Proposed changes
Dear Volunteer
OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED IN THE FUTURE MANAGEMENT OF THE BARLOW
Some of you may already be aware that a working group of Barlow trustees and volunteers has been meeting tasked with developing an improved way of managing the day-to-day operation of The Barlow.
Proposals have been drawn up which include:
- The establishment of a new Barlow Management Committee made up of volunteers acting under delegated powers from the Board of Trustees to take charge of the day-to-day operation of The Barlow.
- The setting up of Working Groups to carry out specific tasks and to involve trustees, volunteers and other experts working together as necessary.
- Improved reporting and communication links between the Volunteer Groups and the Board of Trustees.
The aim of the proposals is to give the Volunteers a greater say in, and responsibility for, the day-to-day running of The Barlow.
It is hoped that the new system can be implemented by September.
If you are interested in being involved in the Management Committee, Working Groups or wish to comment on the proposals please come along to an initial meeting on Tuesday 16th July at 6.30pm in The Barlow (IT/Conference Room). Anyone interested in playing an active role in the management of The Barlow is welcome, whether current volunteer or not.
We look forward to seeing you there. If you require further information, please email info@thebarlow.co.uk
