March Events at The Barlow

What’s coming up soon at The Barlow?

A bit late with events this month, as your correspondent decided to miss the worst of the winter weather courtesy of Easyjet.  However, some good events still to come:

The Horticultural Society on 15th will be discussing Cottage Garden Plants.  Also on 15th, e is an event organised by Age UK and others to help over 50s stay safe on the move.

Folk at The Barlow on 17th will feature Jess and Richard Arrowsmith, specialising in traditional English music.

Two events on the 22nd.  The Tea Dance in the afternoon and a Mindfulness Taster Session in the evening for anyone who would like to feel calmer and more alive.

To round off the month, on 24th there will be music and poetry in the Reading Room from 7.30 pm.

1st March was St. David’s Day and something which not many people may know is that several WW1 soldiers from Edgworth were enlisted in Welsh Regiments.  Those who died are commemorated in the Welsh Book of Remembrance in Cardiff.  Read the stories of Grosvenor Hardy, George Warren, John Threlfall, Harry Forrest and Ernest Isherwood in the WW1 biographies.
