Following recent updates relating to the cost of repairing the roof at The Barlow, the trustees wish to obtain a Public Works Loan for which they need the support of the Parish Council.
If the roof is not repaired, in a few years The Barlow could face closure.
Unfortunately North Turton Parish Council has taken legal advice which suggests that they cannot support such a loan. This opinion has been challenged, including by our MP Jake Berry and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and is to be reconsidered.
The subject is on the agenda for the next NTPC meeting and it is important that as many residents as possible attend to express their views.
Please attend the Parish Council meeting on Monday, 7th October at 7.30 pm in the Library
We need the support of the Parish Council if The Barlow is to have a future and look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
