George Bottoms was born in Edgworth in 1896. He was the son of Walter and Margaret Bottoms. He enlisted with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and then served with the Labour Corps following injury. He died from his wounds on 24th July 1918 after returning home. He was 22.
