AN UPDATE FROM THE NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The new Board of Trustees have had their first meeting and are planning to meet frequently for the next few months to ensure all issues are aired and the way forward is agreed. Roles have been allocated as follows:
Christine Waring, Chair
Steve Danks, Vice Chair
Colin Rigby, Treasurer
Along with Mark Sutherland and Daniel Wild
The CIO Working Group, chaired by John Richardson have also met and made a good start. They will report in 3 months
It is confirmed that John Harwood the General Manager resigned from his post effective from 6th August. For the moment the Trustees will be dealing with any outstanding general management issues formerly dealt with by John. New enquiries will be handled by the office.
The Trustees are looking forward to enhancing their number with four nominations from the Community User Groups. Shortly they will be writing to the groups inviting them to make nominations. The Trustees are keen to enhance the involvement of users in the management and strategic direction of The Barlow.
The Trustees understand that without the volunteers there would be no Barlow and wholeheartedly thank them for their hard work and dedication in making the Barlow such a vibrant and successful centre of the community.
Christine Waring, Chair of Trustees
A letter to all Volunteers from Christine Waring, Chair of the Trustees
Dear Volunteers
I am writing to you on behalf of the Trustees to express our heartfelt and sincere thanks for all the hard work and commitment you have given unstintingly to the Barlow over the past years. You can be justly proud of what the Barlow has achieved and the extent to which it is now a valuable focus of life in Edgworth.
The Trustees are committed to continuing the upward progress of the Barlow and look forward to working with you all now and in the future with one aim in view: to serve the best interests of the Barlow and the community.
Again our thanks and appreciation to you all.
